While I believe there is no contesting that what happened to the Armenia population was a genocide, now is not the time to pass a resolution when we’re dependent on Turkey’s help in Iraq. Lou Dobbs said it best on his show, something similar (this isn’t the actual quote but the gist of what he said) “Yes, it was a genocide, sorry Turkey, but it was. However, what’s important to me is the safety of US forces on the ground.” So, we should pass this resolution, after we’re done in Iraq, not now. Imagine what some idiots in the Turkish armed forces would do if they entered into Iraq and saw American forces….
