Imagine for one moment that Mario Lozano was serving, say, the Cuban or Chinese Army. Italians would side with him. But Mario – an Italian-American – is guilty with serving the US army and doing his duty: trying to defend himself from terrorists. And, because of the Italians’ imprudence and disrespect for well-known rules of war they should have known at the time, he mistakenly killed a SISMI agent. But, Italians don’t give a damn about the real reasons for which that infamous incident occurred. To them, if you’re a US soldier, you are already guilty, no matter what. This blog congratulates with the court that thrown the case out and wishes Mario a long life in health and prosperity.
