Thousands March Against Chavez in Caracas
November 30, 2007Thousands of Venezuelans took to the streets of Caracas to show their rejection of the Chavez’s regime and call on the people to vote NO to the chavista “reform” of the constitution, that would boost the tyrant’s power. I was surprised to find this news in the mainstream media, yet there was nothing about it in the Italian media. (h/t: Mega Resistencia)

Italy’s Open Border Problem
November 27, 2007
My article for Human Events: Italy’s Open Border Problem
Sardinia, Italy — A girl verbally insulted and then killed by a Slavic-speaking person who used the tip of an umbrella as a murder weapon . Dozens of villas assaulted by a mix of Morroccans, Romanians and Albanians in northern Italy. Shop owners murdered at random. This is but a part of the very long list of criminal events Italians learn about on an almost daily basis when they turn over the pages of newspapers or watch the morning and evening news. The common thread linking these crimes is the fact that all of the perpetrators were in Italy illegally.
Go read it all here.
Anorexia Kills Yet Another Ultra-Thin Model
November 26, 2007A lot of you might not have heard or read about that 34 year old Israeli model who died from anorexia. An Israeli Fashion photographer accused the fashion industry. Of course, nobody can claim that the industry at large is guilty, but of course SOME stylists ARE. It’s up to a stylist’s goodwill and sense of integrity to choose only healthy models. After all, a cloth is better worn by a healthy weight woman than on a very thin one.
Here is the shocking video (Warning: graphic content).

ASEAN=UN?
November 25, 2007We’re all happier now, as ASEAN (an organization committed to defend the rule of law and whose members are all notorious working democracies) has a Human Rights chart, signed by great democracies such as Burma and Vietnam. The late has recently detained foreign activists protesting such a great democratic system.. (Notice my sarcasm). Doesn’t this scenario remind you of something?
Cuban Dissidents Organize Rally Against Apartheid in the Island
November 21, 2007Dr. Darsi Ferrer has sent us, from Havana, a Spanish-language email where he urges people to hold peaceful rallies to protest apartheid against the Cuban people by the Castros’ regime. The rally’s taking place on December the 10th, on the occasion of the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Below is the English translation by the friends at Babalu. Here is what happened during last year’s peaceful march in Havana. Darsi well knows that by announcing the rally, the mobs are again preparing to attack him and other dissidents, but he is going on anyway. This guy should be awarded the Nobel Prize, if only the Committee was not made up of useful idiots.
MARCH AGAINST APARTHEID SUFFERED BY THE CUBAN PEOPLE
Havana, November 20, 2007.
We call upon all Cubans to commemorate International Human Rights Day on December 10th, by exercising our right to demonstrate in a PEACEFUL SILENT MARCH as a protest of the immoral and illegal APARTHEID policy imposed by the Cuban government.
It is the duty all people to assume individual responsibility and confront the tragedy facing the nation, to urge political, economic and social changes that benefit EVERYONE, and to facilitate an end to this humiliating situation in which a powerful few violate sovereignty and enjoy privileges all while discriminating against the majority simply because they are citizens.
Governments, institutions, organizations and human beings in general have an obligation to promote respect for fundamental rights and freedoms, as well as ensure their recognition and universal and effective application.
Our appeal, by our participation on that day, will be for the recognition, in every corner of the earth, of the inherent dignity and equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family.
Never in the history of the nation has there existed such an ANTI-CUBAN government. The current constitution recognizes rights and freedoms for Cubans (Article 42 and 43), the penal code condemns as a felony any application of apartheid (Article 120-1 and 295-1); in practice the two laws are systematically violated by the established official public policy.
Despite the fact that the Cuban government is a member of the newly created United Nations Council for Human Rights, it violates its pledge to be a signatory of the international convention on repression and punishment for the crime of apartheid.
The march will take place at the park located at Calzada between D and E, in El Vedado. The start time for the march will be 11:00 A.M. and will consist of walking around the park, in silence, to avoid any kind of disorder and provocation.
We urge Cubans living outside the island to conduct activities on the 10th of December, at the same hour, in commemoration of this important date, and thus extend their support and solidarity to the march.
We call upon the international organizations dedicated to the defense of human rights to join and contribute by promoting the 30 articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the elimination of APARTHEID in Cuba.
In particular, we expect that the authorities of the government of Cuba to ensure order during the march and prevent, on this occasion, abuses by state security apparatus.

Bhutto Democratic? We Need to Be Cautious
November 10, 2007Yesterday I wrote a post in which I said Benazir Bhutto may be the only viable alternative to both “moderate” Islamic Musharraf and the Islamo-fascists. I admit I had no clue as to her political ideology. She claims she is not marxist, but what she wants for Pakistan is “Islamic socialism”. Just take a look at her party’s vision in order to get an idea. At this point, my only hope is for Pakistan never to be left alone to fight Islamic fundamentalism. I don’t support Musharraf. I don’t support anyone so far. I only hope we will not have to face a nuclear-armed Taliban regime there one day or another.
Musharraf Regime Plays Games with Benazir Bhutto
November 9, 2007Like Aung San Su Kyi, the General-in-chief detained the opposition leader. She has been released, but the situation is more tense than ever. In my opinion, she is the only viable alternative to both Musharraf and the Islamo-fascists who would turn Pakistan into another Taliban Afghanistan.
