    Just like the Mexican-American War, our history textbooks in grade school told us very little of the Italian campaign. Looks like I have some reading to do when I get back stateside.

    In spite of the rampant ingratitude displayed by many Europeans, the answer is and will always be a resounding YES. We are your cousins. Family may squabble, but we are there when it counts the most.

    In your article you wrote Italians chose between a monarchy and a republic in 1948, but it was in 1946 (june, the 2nd, the first time women voted in Italy).
    In 1948 (january, the 1st) the Constitution came into force.

    l’america e’ entrata in guerra solo dopo 3 anni e dopo essere stata attaccata. nessun vanto morale, casomai possiamo essere grati agli inglesi che hanno cominciato una guerra per difendere la terra altrui. gli americani dove mettono piede non se ne vanno piu’, europa, arabia, iraq etc.
    perche’ dovremmo ringraziarli se hanno fatto solo i loro interessi?
    e cmq dopo 63 anni e’ piu’ normale pensare a quello che fanno oggi piuttosto che il secolo scorso. ma se li ami, emigra, li’ e’ pieno di americani

    No…subito dopo…non 3 mesi dopo…e anche entrata in guerra contro i tedeschi anche se loro non hanno fatto niente contro l’America. In fatti, gli USA a perso 300,000 soldati in una guerra contro quel nemico che non ha fatto niente contro l’America. Peccato che gli americani non ti hanno fornito la possibilità di essere costretto ad impararle al punto di della spada.

    Sì, hai ragione. In fatti, nel giro di solo 7 anni l’America ha liberato più persone e dato a più donne i diritti umani che tutto Europa (o l’ONO) ha fatto in 200 anni. 35 millioni che vivevano contro i regimi di schiavisti. “i loro interessi”. Per carità…parla con le donne afgane degli “interessi americani”.
