The Fight Against Genital Mutilation Must Go On

A bit of good news from Norway, where authorities are taking action against female genital mutilation, a form of torture very common among the immigrants communities in Europe and tolerated for years in the name of multiculturalism. 250 mutilated women are being treated at an Oslo’s hospital. In Egypt, a 12-year old girl died after being butchered in this way. Hundreds of girls die because of this genital mutilation.

I am writing to you this week from the home of America’s Cold War enemy — Russia, the former Soviet Union. Callista and I are in Moscow for a few days. It’s an interesting place to be as America celebrates its independence. It’s also a unique vantage point from which to view the narrowly averted attacks in London and Glasgow.

The events that transpired in the United Kingdom last week are just further proof that America and our allies have enemies in the world, and these enemies intend to kill us.

This is Cuban healthcare, the one for the average Cuban – that is, for the majority of the population of the island. Don’t expect Sick Michael Moore to feature this in one of his next ‘movies’. Cubans won’t enjoy world-class health care as long as communism is in power. The health care Moore talks about is available only to a small elite around the regime.
