Il primo ministro israeliano Ehud Olmert si è giustamente rotto le balle di sentire le prediche dell’Europa su quello che israele deve fare. Israele è uno stato sovrano, che non deve chiedere il permesso a nessuno quando si tratta di difendere la propria esistenza. Olmert dice agli europei: chi vi dà il diritto di darci lezioni?

Charles at LGF has a long but must-read post with photos of Reuters’ doctored photos from Lebanon. The photos are doctored by Reuters’ arab photographs to deliberately make Israel look bad. One of the many examples of dishonesty from the news wire services, which would do well to apologize and adopt an accountable way of reporting news.

Su Internet si sta mostrando l’evidenza di come certe agenzie di stamp occidentali presenti in Libano stiano falsificando notizie e foto, con l’aiuto degli Hezbollah e con il fine ultimo di mettere in cattiva luce Israele. Little Green Footballs analizza, con l’aiuto di tanti altri blog e siti, come le foto dei bombardamenti israeliani contro obbiettivi Hezbollah, vengano manipolate per far sembrare che vi sia un’attacco indiscriminato contro palazzi dove abita gente comune. Il fotografo in questione di chiama Adnan Hajj, ovviamente è un arabo con simpatie per i terroristi, perchè mai e poi mai Reuters, AFP o l’Associated Press si permetterebbero di assumere un ebreo per riportare i fatti. Altrimenti, non ci sarebbe la propaganda che i media complici dei terroristi vorrebbero. Queste foto, mostrate ed analizzate a fondo da vari siti e blog i quali le hanno prese da Yahoo News (che, a sua volta, le ha prese da AFP, Reuters ed AP) , evidenziano come i ‘fotografi’ in questione abbiano usato il programma Photoshop per ritoccare le foto.  Ad esempio, ecco una foto della quale si vede benissimo come il fotografo abbia usato Photoshop per aggiungere più fumo del solito (se prendete una foto di un normale incendio, potete provare con Photoshop e vedrete che vi esce lo stesso effetto) . His brother Miguel, 27, says the punishment may be worse now that Castro’s health is in doubt. ”And now, since this happened, they’ll probably put you in prison,” Miguel said. Cubans in the island are waiting to know more. While it’s true many lost the fear to speak out, others are still afraid. Above all, now they fear another brutal wave of repression. I’ve just talked to some Cuban friends inside Cuba. They’re telling me they’re very happy, but they’re cautious as well. Many people are afraid of reprisals. Furthermore, they are telling that it’s time for the exile to start act in a concrete way, instead of issuing statements “well knowing that, from where they are, that will lead to no consequences for, while we are facing the repression on a daily basis, because we’re putting our lives at risk ” . What they mean, is that for too long the exile has kept quiet over the continuous repression of those in Cuba and now they come out with statements inviting the people to take to the streets, etc. Well, it’s time for the exile to lend a REAL hand of help, not only by nice words.

My message to the Cuban friends, both in Cuba and outside: keep the calm, don’t let emotions commit errors. The regime is very nervous and it might – and almost surely it’ll – wage a new, more brutal wave of repression in the island. The opposition in Cuba (more than 300 among political parties, movements, independent libraries, etc.) is going to face growing repression as well as the people of Cuba in general.Keep the champagne bottle in your refrigerator. Celebrate (and I’ll as well), but then be realist and work in a responsible and careful way to help your countrymen regain sovereignty and freedom.

Al pueblo de Cuba cansado de dictadura y a los hermanos que dentro de la isla luchan constantemente y pacificamente: no dejar que las emociones los hagan cometir errores. Estén listos para enfrentar al régimen porqué en estos momentos la cupula corrupta del gobierno es muy nerviosa. Pero, es la hora de comenzar a romper las cadenas. Es la hora de rescatar a la patria y a devolver la democracia. Demandamos que el mundo despierte y que acabe de hablar y tome accion para ayudar (materialmente, no solo con palabras) a los que en Cuba ahora van a ser aun màs reprimidos
